KUALA LUMPUR: Historian Prof Emeritus Tan Sri Dr Khoo Kay Kim (pic) has been warded at the University Malaya Medical Centre after suffering a heart attack on Friday.
His son Rubin Khoo said his father was in a stable condition and recovering in the hospital's intensive care unit.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak visited Prof Khoo.
He also conveyed his prayers for Prof Khoo's speedy recovery through his Twitter account and 1Malaysia blog.
In his blog, Najib said he had spent some time talking to the doctors who were attending to the prominent historian.
“I pray for his speedy recovery and conveyed my warmest regards toPuan Sri Rathi Khoo,” he said, referring to Prof Khoo's wife.
Najib said that Prof Khoo, 75, had played a role in shaping the Malaysian landscape through his role in devising the Rukunegara.
