KUALA LUMPUR: Former crime buster and senior police officer Deputy Supt (Retired) Bahadon Baharom has passed away. He was 63.
Bahadon, who had lung cancer, died yesterday after suffering a stroke at the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre.
During his time with the police force, he had a hand in busting many criminal cases, including the notorious Kalimuthu@Bentong Kali's case.
He was also involved in more than 70 shootouts with criminals and rescued many kidnapped victims.
Bahadon, whose last post before retiring from the force was as Kuala Lumpur CID chief, leaves behind a wife and four children.
Many senior police officers visited Bahadon's home in Taman Seri Bahtera, Cheras, to pay their last respects. They included former federal CID chief Tan Sri Zaman Khan and current federal CID deputy director Deputy Comm Datuk Hadi Ho Abdullah.
Bahadon was laid to rest at the Cheras Muslim cemetery.
